Privacy Policy

Your baby's story belongs to your family. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we'll never do with it.

Last updated: June 10, 2026

TapyTales (“we”, “our”, or “us”) makes NFC tags and a companion app that help parents log their baby’s day with a single tap. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you visit our website, buy a Starter Kit, or use the TapyTales app.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, we never sell your data, and the logs you create about your baby are yours — visible only to you and the caregivers you explicitly invite.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and basic profile information with us instead.
  • Order information. When you buy a Starter Kit, we collect your shipping address and order details. Payments are processed by our e-commerce provider’s payment partners — we never see or store your full card number.
  • Tracking logs. The activities you record in the app — feeds, diaper changes, sleep, medication, milestones, and custom routines — are created by you and stored so you and your invited caregivers can see your shared timeline.
  • Messages you send us. If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. It is delivered straight to our support inbox and is not stored in a website database.
  • Email updates. If you sign up for product updates, we collect your email address so we can send them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

How we use your information

  • To fulfill and ship your orders
  • To run your account and your family’s shared timeline
  • To answer your questions and provide support
  • To send updates you asked for (opt out anytime)
  • To keep the service secure and prevent fraud
  • To improve TapyTales itself

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers below and the caregivers you explicitly invite to your timeline.

Your baby’s data

TapyTales is made for parents and caregivers, and our service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. The logs you create describe your child, but they are entered and controlled entirely by you. We treat them as sensitive: they are never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone you haven’t invited. You can export or permanently delete them whenever you like. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Service providers

A small number of providers help us run TapyTales, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:

  • Shopify powers our store, customer accounts, and checkout, including payment processing through its PCI-compliant partners.
  • Googleprovides the optional “Sign in with Google” option.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send, including contact-form messages to our support inbox.
  • Shipping carriers receive your name and address so they can deliver your order.

Cookies & local storage

We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t run third-party analytics trackers. The site uses only what it needs to work:

  • A session cookie that keeps you signed in to your account
  • A region cookie that remembers which store (US or Canada) you’re shopping in
  • Browser local storage that remembers your shopping cart between visits

Your rights

You can always:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that’s inaccurate
  • Export your tracking logs in a portable format
  • Delete your account and your data
  • Opt out of marketing emails

To exercise any of these, email us at support@tapytales.com or use our contact page.

Retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill orders and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, your tracking logs are deleted with it. Data is encrypted in transit and protected with industry-standard safeguards — though no method of storage or transmission can ever be guaranteed 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the update here with a new “last updated” date. For significant changes, we’ll let you know by email or in the app.
